والزوجة لها حق عند زوجها، والزوج له حق عند زوجته، فلكل حق حقه. فلكل واحد لابد أن يؤدي الحق الذي عليه تجاه زوجته وتجاه المرأة. لذلك قال النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام: “أيها الناس إن لنسائكم عليكم حقا، ولكم عليهن حق، لكم عليهن ألا يوطئن فرشكم غيركم، وألا يأذنّ لمن تكرهونه حتى يدخل بيوتكم”. هذه مبادئ غابت عن بيوتنا، وغابت عن أزواجنا، وغابت عن زوجاتنا. أين نحن من هذه المبادئ من هدي النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام؟ لذلك القرآن أفرد سورة كاملة باسم سورة النساء لمن يدّعون أن الإسلام… 

The wife has a right over her husband, and the husband has a right over his wife; everyone has their due right. Everyone must fulfill the rights they owe to their wife and to women in general. That is why the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “O people, indeed your women have a right over you, and you have a right over them. Your right over them is that they not allow anyone you dislike to sit on your beds, and that they not permit anyone you dislike to enter your homes.” These are principles that have vanished from our homes, from our husbands, and from our wives. Where do we stand regarding these principles from the guidance of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him? That is why the Quran dedicated an entire chapter named “Surah An-Nisa” (The Women) to address those who claim that Islam…

والقرآن وسنة النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام هضم حق المرأة. الإسلام هو الذي أعطى للمرأة حقها، أعطاها حقها عند أبيها، أعطاها حقها عند زوجها، أعطاها حقها عند ولدها. “يُوصِيكُمُ اللَّهُ فِي أَوْلَادِكُمْ ۖ لِلذَّكَرِ مِثْلُ حَظِّ الْأُنْثَيَيْنِ ۚ فَإِنْ كُنَّ نِسَاءً فَوْقَ اثْنَتَيْنِ فَلَهُنَّ ثُلُثَا مَا تَرَكَ”. هذا هو القرآن وهذه هي سنة النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام. ثم نادى النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام في الناس: “أيها الناس إنما المؤمنون إخوة فأصلحوا بين أخويكم واتقوا الله”. نعم يا عباد الله، من الذي جمع بين الأمريكي والعربي؟ من الذي جمع بين المغربي والصومالي؟ من الذي جمع بين الفلسطيني والأردني؟ من الذي جمع بين كل هذه البلاد؟ من الذي جمع بين الأبيض…

…and the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, denied women their rights. Islam is what gave women their rights. It gave them their rights with their fathers, their husbands, and their children. “God instructs you concerning your children: for the male, what is equal to the share of two females. But if there are more than two females, then for them is two-thirds of what he leaves.” This is the Quran, and this is the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Then the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, called out to the people: “O people, the believers are but brothers, so make peace between your brothers and fear God.” Yes, O servants of God, who brought together the American and the Arab? Who brought together the Moroccan and the Somali? Who brought together the Palestinian and the Jordanian? Who brought together all these countries? Who brought together the white…

والأحمر والأسود، أليس هو الإسلام؟ بلى يا عباد الله، “يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَاكُم مِّن ذَكَرٍ وَأُنثَىٰ وَجَعَلْنَاكُمْ شُعُوبًا وَقَبَائِلَ لِتَعَارَفُوا ۚ إِنَّ أَكْرَمَكُمْ عِندَ اللَّهِ أَتْقَاكُمْ”. لذلك الصلاة هي التي تجمع بين كل الطبقات، الغني بجوار الفقير، والأسود بجوار الأبيض وهكذا. يا عباد الله إن الإسلام يوحد الناس أجمعين، كلكم لآدم وآدم من تراب، كلكم لآدم وآدم من تراب. لذلك نحن المسلمون ألا يجدر بنا أن نضع الخلافات خلف ظهورنا؟ لماذا؟ لأن قبلتنا واحدة وربنا واحد ورسولنا عليه الصلاة والسلام هو رسول الأمة وخاتم الأنبياء. “مَّا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَا أَحَدٍ مِّن رِّجَالِكُمْ وَلَٰكِن رَّسُولَ اللَّهِ… 

…and red and black, is that not Islam? Yes, O servants of God, “O mankind, We created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes so that you may know one another. Indeed, the most honored of you in the sight of God is the most righteous of you.” Therefore, prayer is what unites all classes, the rich next to the poor, the black next to the white, and so on. O servants of God, Islam unites all people. You are all from Adam, and Adam is from dust. Therefore, we Muslims, should we not put our differences behind us? Why? Because our Qibla is one, our Lord is one, and our Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, is the Messenger of the nation and the Seal of the Prophets. “Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of God…

وخاتم النَّبِيِّينَ ۗ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمًا”. نحن المسلمون نؤمن بجميع الأنبياء ونؤمن بجميع الكتب المنزلة. ألا يجدر بنا أن نضع الخلافات وراء ظهورنا وأن نطهر قلوبنا من الحقد والبغضاء والكراهية خاصة في هذا اليوم العظيم المشهود أيها الإخوة الكرام؟ 

…and the Seal of the Prophets. And God is ever Knowing of all things.” We Muslims believe in all the prophets and in all the revealed books. Shouldn’t we put aside our differences and purify our hearts from hatred, malice, and animosity, especially on this great and momentous day, noble brothers?

أيها الناس، كما قال النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام: “لا ترجعوا بعدي كفارا يضرب بعضكم رقاب بعض”. لذلك نجد الآن المسلمون يقاتلون بعضهم بعضا، المسلم هو الذي يقتل المسلم، هو الذي ينتهك عرضه، المسلم هو الذي ينتهك مقدساتك. لذلك النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام في حجة الوداع يخطب الناس: “أيها الناس لا ترجعوا بعدي كفارا يضرب بعضكم رقاب بعض”. نعم يا عباد الله، أيها الإخوة الكرام، هذا هو نبينا عليه الصلاة والسلام. ثم ختم النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام خطبته بقوله: “هذا هو يوم عرفة، الناس هناك على جبل عرفات”… 

O people, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Do not revert to disbelief after me, striking one another’s necks.” Yet, we find Muslims now fighting one another; a Muslim killing another Muslim, a Muslim violating another’s honor, and a Muslim violating your sacred sites. That is why the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in his Farewell Pilgrimage, addressed the people, saying, “O people, do not revert to disbelief after me, striking one another’s necks.” Yes, O servants of God, O noble brothers, this is our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Then the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, concluded his sermon by saying, “This is the Day of Arafah, the people are there on Mount Arafat.”

نسوا المال، نسوا الأولاد، نسوا التجارة، نسوا الشهوات، وتفرغوا لعبادة رب العباد وتفرغوا للدعاء، لتلهج ألسنتهم بـ “لا إله إلا الله محمد رسول الله”، تلهج ألسنتهم بـ “نحن أمة واحدة ذات رسالة خالدة”، وهي رسالة القرآن وسنة النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام. يقول الشاعر: “فليتك تحلو والحياة مريرة … وليتك ترضى والأنام غضاب”. المسلم لا هم له إلا أن يرضي الله سبحانه وتعالى، المسلم لا هم له إلا طاعة الله وطاعة نبيه عليه الصلاة والسلام، لأن في طاعة الله وطاعة النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام الهدى. قال سبحانه وتعالى في سورة النور: “وَإِن تُطِيعُوهُ تَهْتَدُوا”. ففي طاعة الله الفلاح والنجاح وفي طاعة النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام السعادة، سعادة في الدنيا وسعادة في الآخرة. انظر إلى حالك أيها المسلم حينما تأتي إلى المسجد وتصلي الفجر في جماعة، فأنت في معية الله، ترتاح سريرتك وينشرح صدرك ويرتاح قلبك وتطمئن نفسك لأنك أصبحت في… 

They forgot about money, children, trade, and desires, and devoted themselves to worshipping the Lord of all creation. They devoted themselves to supplication, their tongues constantly uttering “There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God,” and their tongues uttering “We are one nation with an eternal message,” which is the message of the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. As the poet says, “I wish You to be sweet when life is bitter, and I wish You to be pleased when mankind is angry.” The Muslim has no concern except to please God Almighty. The Muslim has no concern except to obey God and obey His Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, because in obedience to God and obedience to the Prophet is guidance. God Almighty said in Surah An-Nur: “And if you obey him, you will be guided.” So in obedience to God is success and prosperity, and in obedience to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is happiness—happiness in this world and happiness in the Hereafter. Look at your state, O Muslim, when you come to the mosque and pray Fajr in congregation. You are in the company of God. Your inner self finds peace, your chest expands, your heart finds rest, and your soul finds tranquility because you have entered into the company of God.

معية الله وقمت بطاعة الله سبحانه وتعالى. إذاً اغتنم الفرصة في يوم عرفة. وعن النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام أنه قال: “التائب من الذنب كمن لا ذنب له”، أو كما قال النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام: “ادعوا الله وأنتم موقنون بالإجابة”. 

Therefore, seize the opportunity on the Day of Arafah. It is reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said, “The one who repents from sin is like one who has no sin,” or as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Call upon God while you are certain of being answered.”

الحمد لله رب العالمين والعاقبة للمتقين ولا عدوان إلا على الظالمين، ونشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، ونشهد أن سيدنا ونبينا وعظيمنا محمدا عبد الله ورسوله. أيها الإخوة الكرام في يوم عرفة كما ورد في الحديث الشريف عن النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام، ونحن نعلم أنه كان مشغولا بأمته ودائما وأبدا يدعو لأمته عليه الصلاة والسلام، حتى في يوم القيامة والناس منشغلون كل بنفسه، كل نفس بما كسبت رهينة، كل نبي يقول نفسي نفسي إلا سيدنا محمد عليه الصلاة والسلام يقول: أمتي أمتي. حتى في يوم عرفة نادى الله سبحانه وتعالى داعيا لأمته أن يغفر للمسلمين أجمعين، يغفر للظالم والمظلوم، لكن الله… 

Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and the best outcome is for the righteous. There is no aggression except against the oppressors. We bear witness that there is no god but God alone, without partner, and we bear witness that our master, our prophet, and our great one, Muhammad, is the servant of God and His Messenger. O noble brothers, on the Day of Arafah, as mentioned in the noble hadith of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him—and we know that he was preoccupied with his nation and always prayed for his nation, even on the Day of Resurrection, when people will be preoccupied with themselves, each soul held hostage by what it has earned. Every prophet will say, “Myself, myself,” except our master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, who will say, “My nation, my nation.” On the Day of Arafah, he called out to God Almighty, praying for his nation, asking for forgiveness for all Muslims, forgiving both the oppressor and the oppressed. But God…

أجابه: الظالم له عاقبته والمظلوم له أجره. 

…answered him that the oppressor will face the consequences of their actions, and the oppressed will receive their reward.

ولم يُستجب للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في هذه الدعوة (كاملة). فلما كان في اليوم الثاني كرر النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم الدعاء لله سبحانه وتعالى وقال: “أي ربي، إن للمظلوم جنة وللمظلوم مغفرة”. فاستجيب للنبي عليه الصلاة والسلام فضحك النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام، فقال أبو بكر وعمر: بأبي أنت وأمي يا رسول الله ما الذي أضحكك؟ ما كنت تضحك في مثل هذا اليوم. قال: “أضحكني أن الشيطان لما استجيبت دعوتي لربي لأمتي أخذ يحثو التراب على وجهه”. لذلك اليوم هو يوم مباهاة، يوم عرفة، أيها الإخوة الكرام يوم فرصة لا تفوتك أبدا، اغتنم هذه الفرصة من صلاة العصر إلى صلاة المغرب. السيدة فاطمة رضي الله تعالى عنها… 

The Prophet’s supplication was not fully answered in this regard. So on the second day, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, repeated his supplication to God Almighty, saying, “O my Lord, Paradise awaits the oppressed, and forgiveness awaits the wronged.” The Prophet’s supplication was then answered, and he laughed. Abu Bakr and Umar said, “May our fathers and mothers be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of God! What made you laugh? You do not usually laugh on such a day.” He replied, “What made me laugh was that when my supplication to my Lord for my nation was answered, Satan began throwing dust on his own face.” Therefore, this day is a day of divine pride, the Day of Arafah. O noble brothers, it is an opportunity you should never miss. Seize this opportunity from the Asr (afternoon) prayer until the Maghrib (sunset) prayer. Lady Fatima, may God be pleased with her…

فاطمة الزهراء كانت ترسل غلامها إلى خارج بيتها لينظر حتى غروب الشمس لأنها تريد أن تناجي الله سبحانه وتعالى. وقال بعض السلف أو بعض الصالحين: “من استقامت جمعته فقد استقام أسبوعه كاملا”. لذلك نغتنم الفرصة لأن يوم الجمعة هذا الذي نحن فيه خصه الله بفضائل كثيرة وخصه النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بأمور عظيمة، منها أنه عيد أسبوعي للمسلمين، منها أنه خير يوم طلعت فيه الشمس، فيه خلق آدم وفيه أدخل الجنة وفيه أخرج منها، وفيه ساعة إجابة من بعد صلاة العصر إلى صلاة المغرب. وخاصة أيها الإخوة الكرام أن يوم الجمعة متوسط في هذه الأيام. 

…Fatima al-Zahra used to send her servant outside her house to watch the sun until it set because she wanted to commune with God Almighty. Some of the righteous predecessors said that whoever’s Friday is set right, their entire week is set right. Therefore, let us seize the opportunity, for God has bestowed many virtues upon this Friday we are in, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, has distinguished it with great matters. Among them is that it is a weekly celebration for Muslims, it is the best day on which the sun has risen, on it Adam was created, on it he entered Paradise, and on it he was expelled from it. And on it there is an hour of answered prayer from after the Asr prayer until the Maghrib prayer. And especially, dear brothers, Friday happens to fall within these special days.

اترك زوجتي والأولاد واترك كل شيء وشغلك بزخارف الدنيا. “زُيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ حُبُّ الشَّهَوَاتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ وَالْبَنِينَ وَالْقَنَاطِيرِ الْمُقَنطَرَةِ…” اترك كل هذه الشهوات وتفرغ لله سبحانه وتعالى من بعد صلاة العصر في هذا اليوم إلى قبيل صلاة المغرب عند الشروق (الغروب). نسأل الله العظيم رب العرش العظيم بحق هذه الأيام العشر الأول من ذي الحجة وبحق عرشه وبحق أركان عرشه ونوره الذي سبحانه وتعالى ملأ السماوات والأرضين وبحق جاه نبينا محمد عليه الصلاة والسلام وبحق يوم عرفة وبحق القرآن العظيم كل حرف فيه وكل آية فيه وكل سورة فيه وبحق آية الكرسي، يا من سخرت الليل والنهار وسخرت الشمس والقمر وجعلت النجوم مسخرات بأمرك والطير مسخرات في جو السماء ما يمسكهن إلا أنت يا رب العالمين. 

Leave your wife and children, leave everything and your preoccupation with the adornments of the world. “Beautified for people is the love of that which they desire—of women and sons, heaped-up sums of gold and silver…” Leave all these desires and devote yourself to God Almighty from after the Asr prayer on this day until just before the Maghrib prayer at sunset. We ask God, the Great, Lord of the Mighty Throne, by the right of these first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, by the right of His Throne, by the right of the pillars of His Throne, and by His light which fills the heavens and the earth, by the right of the status of our Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, by the right of the Day of Arafah, by the right of the Glorious Quran, every letter in it, every verse in it, and every chapter in it, and by the right of the Verse of the Throne (Ayat al-Kursi). O You who control the night and the day, and subject the sun and the moon, and make the stars fixed by Your command, and the birds suspended in the sky, none but You holds them, O Lord of the Worlds.

نسألك بأسمائك الحسنى وصفاتك العلى ألا تدع لنا في يومنا ذنبا إلا غفرته ولا كربا إلا فرجته ولا عيبا إلا سترته ولا مريضا إلا شفيته ولا مدينا إلا قضيت دينه ولا محتاجا إلا قضيت حاجته ولا سائلا إلا قضيت مسألته يا رب العالمين. اللهم اقبل توبة التائبين اللهم اغفر ذنوب المذنبين أجمعين. ربنا هب لنا من لدنك رحمة إنك أنت الوهاب، ربنا هب لنا من لدنك رحمة وهيئ لنا من أمرنا رشدا. اللهم تقبل من الحجيج نسكهم وشعائرهم يا رب العالمين وأنزل عليهم رحماتك وسكينتك يا رب العالمين، وتقبل منا، حُرمنا من حج بيتك الحرام في هذا العام فلا تحرمنا من حج بيتك في الأعوام القادمة إن كان في العمر بقية. 

We ask You by Your Most Beautiful Names and Sublime Attributes not to leave us with any sin today unforgiven, any distress unrelieved, any fault unhidden, any sick person unhealed, any debtor’s debt unpaid, any needy person’s need unfulfilled, or any supplicant ungranted, O Lord of the Worlds. O God, accept the repentance of the repentant. O God, forgive the sins of all sinners. Our Lord, grant us mercy from Your presence, for You are the Bestower. Our Lord, grant us mercy from Your presence and guide us to the right path. O God, accept the Hajj of the pilgrims and their rituals, O Lord of the Worlds, and bestow upon them Your mercy and tranquility. Accept it from us who were deprived of the pilgrimage to Your Sacred House this year, and do not deprive us of the pilgrimage to Your House in the coming years, if life remains.

يا أرحم الراحمين ويا أكرم الأكرمين اللهم أكرمنا بزيارة بيتك الحرام وزيارة قبر نبيك عليه الصلاة والسلام. 

O Most Merciful of the merciful, O Most Generous of the generous. O God, grant us the honor of visiting Your Sacred House and visiting the grave of Your Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.

وبالصلاة في المسجد الأقصى آمنين مطمئنين. اللهم بحق هذا اليوم المشهود يوم عرفة ويوم الجمعة الذي نحن فيه يا رب العالمين أن تفك أسرى كل أسير. اللهم رد كل أسير إلى أهله سالما غانما يا رب العالمين، لا تحرم كل أسير من ولده وزوجته وأبويه وأحبابه وأصدقائه يا رب العالمين. اللهم ارزقهم الحرية يا رب العالمين، اللهم ارزقنا الحرية من سجون الظالمين يا رب العالمين. اللهم بحق هذا اليوم العظيم أهلك الظالمين بالظالمين وأخرج أمة الإسلام من بينهم سالمين غانمين يا رب العالمين. اللهم بحق هذا اليوم العظيم أطعم أهلنا في غزة هيئ لهم المطعم والمأكل والمشرب والكساء والدواء يا رب العالمين وارفع يد الظالمين المغتصبين عنهم يا رب العالمين. اللهم هيئ لإخواننا من أهلنا في اليمن، الفقراء منهم والمستضعفين… 

And grant us prayer in the Al-Aqsa Mosque in peace and security. O God, by the right of this momentous day, the Day of Arafah, and this Friday which we are in, O Lord of the Worlds, free every prisoner. O God, return every prisoner to his family safe and sound, O Lord of the Worlds. Do not deprive any prisoner of his children, his wife, his parents, his loved ones, and his friends, O Lord of the Worlds. O God, grant them freedom. O God, grant us freedom from the prisons of the oppressors, O Lord of the Worlds. O God, by the right of this great day, destroy the oppressors by means of the oppressors and bring the Muslim nation out from among them safe and sound. O God, by the right of this great day, feed our people in Gaza, provide them with food, drink, clothing, and medicine, O Lord of the Worlds, and remove the hands of the oppressors and usurpers from them. O God, prepare for our brothers and sisters in Yemen, the poor and the oppressed among them…

هيئ لهم من أمرهم رشدا وهيئ لإخواننا المستضعفين في شتى مشارق الأرض ومغاربها يا رب العالمين، واجمعنا وإياكم يا رب العالمين في مستقر رحمته، تقبل منا صيامنا وقيامنا وركوعنا وسجودنا وأضحياتنا يا رب العالمين. وآخر دعوانا أن الحمد لله رب العالمين وصلى الله وسلم وبارك على سيدنا محمد وعلى آله وصحبه وسلم تسليما كثيرا. أيها الإخوة الكرام قبل أن تقوموا إلى الصلاة لا تنسوا هذا المسجد من مساعدتكم أخلف الله عليكم. الصدقة في هذه الأيام تعدل الصدقات في باقي العام إن شاء الله، صدقة السر تطفئ غضب الرب. هذا المسجد ما زال في أشد الاحتياج إلى مساعدتكم أخلف الله عليكم جميعا.

…guide them in their affairs, and prepare for our oppressed brothers in the East and the West of the earth, O Lord of the Worlds. Gather us and them, O Lord of the Worlds, in the resting place of Your mercy. Accept from us our fasting, our standing in prayer, our bowing, our prostrations, and our sacrifices, O Lord of the Worlds. Our final supplication is that all praise belongs to God, Lord of the Worlds. May God’s peace, blessings, and salutations be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions. O noble brothers, before you rise for prayer, do not forget this mosque in your support. May God compensate you. Charity given during these days is equivalent to charity given during the rest of the year, God willing. Secret charity extinguishes the wrath of the Lord. This mosque is still in dire need of your assistance. May God compensate you all.
